Friday Open Thread: Four Games To End the First Half of the Season

Stay connected for news and updates

It's kids' week or camp week so quite often many of us who have 9-5's can't even watch the games of our teams. But finally on Friday, that changes after a matinee in Newark as the Libs host their kiddie game against the Mystics. Yes, three of four games are in the evening at their home sites, and one game will be at 7 PM Arizona and Pacific Time as the Mercury plays the Storm!

All games are on LiveAccess, unless I say otherwise.

1. Washington Mystics (3-14) at NY Liberty (6-11), 11:00 AM ET/8:00 AM PT

The big story of the day isn't about the game unfortunately, but the fact the Washington Post released an article about Mystics' fans' ire which basically tells all.

It's Camp Day at Prudential Center, and thundersticks will be the giveaway at the game.

2. Atlanta Dream (9-9) at San Antonio Silver Stars (12-5), 8:00 PM ET/7:00 PM CT/5:00 PM PT

The Dream is coming off a convincing win against the Storm and the Stars won 8 straight games. As hot as the Stars have been, the Dream has definitely played very well on this road trip winning 3 of 5 games so far and the team could guarantee a .500 record on this 8 game stretch with a win tonight.

If you're in Atlanta, turn on SPSO. If you're in San Antonio, turn on Fox Sports SW.

3. Connecticut Sun (14-4) at Chicago Sky (8-8), 8:30 PM ET/7:30 PM CT/5:30 PM CT

This is the first matchup between these two teams this year. Connecticut has won 4 games in a row, including two straight against my Mystics, and the Sky has been almost as cold as my Mystics as of late. Let's see if Chicago can kick off its Olympic Break on a positive note, because a loss will bring them to a sub .500 record..

If you're in Chicago, turn on CN100 to see the game.

4. Seattle Storm (8-10) at Phoenix Mercury (4-14), 10:00 PM ET/7:00 PT and Arizona Time

Last time these teams met, Storm assassin Sue Bird lit up the scoreboard. This time, these traditional rivals face each other in Phoenix.

On another note, for our west coasters, finally, a game after work hours for you!

So enjoy the games today, and I certainly can use the Olympic Break as much as the players on my local team.
