Hakeem Olajuwon & Dwight Howard Training Sessions 2010 (via dr34mshake)

Got totally derailed by watching Hakeem Olajuwon footage instead of writing something else today (sorry MIP candidates), both as a tangent to a random basketball discussion and in light of reports that Connecticut Sun center Tina Charles has been watching footage of "The Dream" as part of her development.

Back in 2010, I wrote in a post about the 1995 Houston Rockets for FreeDarko.com that the video above, "...shows just how wide the gap is between the Dream and the guy who most people consider the best center in the NBA today." And we can argue about where Olajuwon stands among the all-time greatest post players, but there have been few in my basketball lifetime that played the position more beautifully than him.

I would love to know what Olajuwon could teach Charles (or Fowles or just about anyone) in a setting like that.
