We got off to a slow start. We let them score 35 points in the first quarter so not indicative of the defense we’ve been playing. After that, especially in the second half, we held them to 10 points and 11 points. The bottom line is we have to find a combination and to come out with energy and execute in the beginning of the game so that we can stop getting in the hole
— Washington Mystics Head Coach Trudi Lacey regarding her thoughts on last Friday's 76-70 loss against the Liberty. Here is the link to her quote.
I'm a broken record, but why worry about defense when the Mystics can't score outside of the Big Three, and especially Langhorne? Scoring is what matters most at the end of the day, and the lack of offense, especially in the backcourt after Matee was exposed last Friday. They have a week to figure this loss out, and hope that they can score some points against Indiana. I really hope that I can see more offensive consistency with multiple players. I really do.
