There are three games tonight, beginning at 7 p.m. EDT in Connecticut.

But the one that stands out to me is the Atlanta Dream's home opener against the New York Liberty at 7:30 p.m. EDT.

The thread is open for your comments, but a few brief thoughts after the jump.

Game 1: San Antonio Silver Stars at Connecticut Sun, 7 p.m. EDT

One of the more interesting links from the day was Mike DiMauro's article in The Day about Renee Montgomery adjusting to her new role off the bench to give the Sun some extra scoring punch. The move illustrates an attempt to find a way to give the perimeter offense a jolt with Montgomery shooting 35% from the field and her replacement, Kara Lawson, shooting only 27.3%.

Game 2: New York Liberty at Atlanta Dream, 7:30 p.m. EDT

The Dream are coming off a loss to the Indiana Fever last weekend in which they got lit up from the 3-point line. Meanwhile, the Liberty are coming off a loss to the Lynx in which their offense really struggled. Both teams are looking to right those problems tonight and Nate Butler of SB Nation's Peachtree Hoops highlights that dynamic as one of his three keys to this game.

Early in the season, New York have struggled to consistently hold on to the ball and this is a huge advantage for the Dream tonight because of the athleticism they display on defense. Angel Mccoughtry, Armintie Price, and Lindsey Harding will need to pressure the Liberty guards to lose the ball and allow Atlanta to get in quick transition baskets. Against Minnesota on Tuesday, the Liberty allowed (12) fast break points off (6) costly turnovers and that can be a major benefit for Atlanta tonight. Atlanta's defense was the best in the league in forcing steals and second with blocks per game and they must prevent New York's offense from having any impact on the game.

Game 3: Indiana Fever at Chicago Sky, 8:30 pm EDT

The Sky will be without veteran point guard Ticha Penicheiro tonight, but are hoping that their revamped roster can excite the home crowd as the team looks to make the playoffs for the first time in franchise history.
