Krauskopf has been the Fever's top basketball and business operations executive since the team was founded in 1999 and had its first season in 2000.
During her tenure, the Fever has a 232-204 regular season record, and has not suffered a sub-.500 record since the 2004 season. In addition, the Fever has made the playoffs every season from 2005-2012, won two Eastern Conference championships in 2009 and 2012, and won the Finals in 2012.
While the drafting of franchise star forward Tamika Catchings certainly helped make building a franchise easier back in 2001 (she actually missed because of an ACL tear), Krauskopf's trades, and drafts over the past several years certainly were just as important to help build the 2012 WNBA Championship team.
On the surface, Krauskopf's promotion may sound like it is a promotion in name only since she is the top executive for the Fever, but at the same time, it's safe to say that this title change will also help solidify the Fever's presence in Indianapolis for perpetuity.
Herb Simon also gave a Q&A to the Indianapolis Star and considers Tamika Catchings in the same breath as Pacers legend (and now current TNT color analyst) Reggie Miller.
Congratulations to Ms. Krauskopf!
