I think this pic says it all.
The Washington Wizards ended their 2011-2012 lockout shortened season with a six game winning streak, and additions of players like Nene earlier that season, Emeka Okafor in the offseason, and the drafting of Bradley Beal of Florida, added some optimism to many fans in the DC area.
Well, Nene is still facing his plantar fasciitis problems, John Wall has a knee injury and is out. And the players who are left started off yet again to another horrible record of 0-12 now. Today, the Wizards endured yet another 118-92 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
Why am I talking about this team on this blog? Well, this team is reminding me a lot of the abysmal summer I got to watch with the Washington Mystics while I gave a blow by blow analysis of how I and many other people felt! And of course, that team remains at a total crossroads because there is NO leader for basketball operations as of today.
I guess karma is still biting DC's professional basketball teams right where it hurts the most and I feel really really angry about both of these teams. Seems only fitting that the folks who own the worst WNBA team franchise in town in the league also own the worst NBA franchise in the league. The losers in all of this mess? Fans of the Washington Wizards and Mystics teams of course. Following these teams is basically a masochistic experience at this point.
Someone please wake me up from this bad dream.
