Brad Rempel-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
We now are hitting the championship round between the best of the Eastern and Western Conferences, the Indiana Fever and Minnesota Lynx respectively. Game is on at 8 PM EDT on ESPN 2. Will the Lynx win their second championship in the last couple years? Or will Tamika Catchings finally get that elusive championship? We won't find out tonight, but we will find out what these two teams are made of over the course of this series.

I have been on record saying that I believe that the Lynx will win the 2012 Finals, and I still stand by that. That said, I am going to root for the Fever and it's not only because I'm from the east coast.
I know I'm the guy who really likes younger teams built through the draft, and the Lynx certainly qualify, but I do have a soft spot for Tamika Catchings in particular and think this needs to be the year for her to get a title. But still, the Lynx are in position to be a very competitive team for some time to come, even without a coveted "Big Three" draft pick for 2013.
By coincidence, the brother teams of both of these franchises (Glen Taylor owns the Lynx; Herb Simon owns the Fever) played last night in an NBA preseason game with the Pacers defeating the Wolves, 96-91. The Wolves squandered an 11 point lead at the half. Maybe this is a good omen for the Fever...
So that's my two cents for the game, and enjoy Game 1 of the Finals.
