WNBA corrects statistical error that led to Tina Charles "triple-double"

As it turns out, Tina Charles' triple-double on September 2 was actually three assists short of a triple double, as now shown in the official boxscore (linked above). The league was notified of a potential error and the Sun scoring crew confirmed the error after a review. From a league release: "The assists on baskets by Kalana Greene and Danielle McCray with 5:56 and 5:02 left to play, respectively, should have been credited to Renee Montgomery. A basket by Kara Lawson with 1:59 to play in the quarter should have been scored as unassisted. " Why does it matter? Well, they were fairly egregious errors, they influence Charles' MVP candidacy, and imagine what would happen if these type of score keeping errors were left unchecked?
