PrintTwo possible elimination games today, beginning with the Atlanta Dream taking on the Connecticut Sun at home up 1-0 and the Minnesota Lynx with the opportunity to win their first playoff series with a win in San Antonio.
With the playoffs upon us, two SBN NBA sites with high hopes this season (Canis Hoopus & Peachtree Hoops) have been running game threads. So look there during and after the games to see what fans of those teams have to say, but we'll also host our normal thread here.

But yes, also hoping they wear each other out. Even if the Liberty can’t pull out the win Monday, I’d be pulling for Indiana against whoever wins this series going forward.

Bitter from last year’s playoff series against the Liberty, for one. Was frustrating because I think a healthy Liberty team could probably have won that series.
Also can’t stand Angel McCoughtry and her attitude, and the fact that said attitude tends to actually WORK with the refs. Just play the game, don’t waste energy on the refs. That’s not fun to watch.
ESPN2 game gets you a different broadcast crew
and an excited sideline reporter.

A game I really really REALLY don’t care who wins. I can’t think of 2 teams in the league I have less emotional attachment to than these 2. I feel favorably toward players like Lawson and Harding and Charles and Price and Breland but it’s not enough to get me really excited either way.

My husband saw the first game of the playoffs there
And the folks where he was sitting practically adopted him. He said it was wonderful and the that they have artisan beer & actual vegetarian food. Hes now plotting a return next year when the kibs play there.
I sat to some wonderful StormCrazies for NY game
Unfortunately the seats next to them were not available for the next 2 games. :(

I think Danielle and Plenette are most successful at flopping. Actually, I think Plenette is quite possibly the best at that because it really DOES always look like she got there in time. SHe’s crafty.

I mean in terms of the beef on their
bodies. Basketball players are beefier than volleyball players but I would expect them to be, if anything, thinner since they do more running. But I guess the beef comes in handy with all the pushing and the like the refs allow.

I could have very easily switched my Monarchs allegiance to the SASS, and might have been more likely to if the switch was this season because of the Danielles.

My wife keeps asking why Jayne Appel gets a paycheck. Plays like that where DA passes up the open shot to give Appel an easy layup and Appel blows the layup make one wonder.
It's also only her 2nd season
Conventional wisdom says it takes posts a few years to adjust. Look at Kia. Or even Fowles. Part of what’s amazing about Charles is that she’s doing so well so early. Brunson’s early years weren’t that awesome, either.

I actually think people underestimate what Appel does on D
She’s a very good position defender because she has such a strong build, if not the nimblest feet.
She still has yet to attend a WNBA training camp so I’m giving her a true full season before writing her off.

But you have to remember
with Boost Mobile, they don’t “lock you in”. We could all try it for a month, as long as our current contract is up.
The bad part is that you have to get a new phone.
Looks like their phone selection is limited.
I guess I won’t switch anyway since I just remembered I have a 25% company discount with AT&T and I don’t work for that company anymore. If I leave I couldn’t get back in at my current rates.

That’s why I give little credence to +/-. You could put me out there with the top 4 Mavericks players against a mediocre college team. I could do absolutely nothing and my +/- would be astronomical.
I tend to agree actually...
Plus/minus works best to me for a) starters, b) across an entire season. I think it’s the kind of thing that adds to the argument for a player being MVP but shouldn’t really lead you to believe a player is bad (the opposite of the example you present above this year is Tina Charles and Sylvia Fowles, both of whom were indisputably All-Stars this year).
