I embrace the fact that women come in all shapes and sizes...
But can’t this league find uniforms that fit women correctly? There are a number of players with uniforms so tight I can see rolls.

The Sun...
can’t hit the broadside of the barn. Getting emotional over lack of calls and not defending.

Just like on Friday...
Atlanta has no answer for Asjha Jones. The other 10 though. The Dream do just fine.

This team has no consistency...
This team can score more than 25 in each quarter like against Minnesota and then score 7 points in the 4th like they did against Atlanta and New York. It’s mind boggling.

Atlanta is the same way
so much of their offense is fueled by their defense. They have a harder time scoring in the half court.
@Kris_Willis
Just as I say that...
Renee goes off for 5 straight points. Missed a free throw.

plus style points
for that shot by Armintie Price after the buzzer
I am the victim of a basketball jones.
Hi'a everyone!
Lineups in Tulsa:
For LA -
G Ticha Penicheiro, G Jenna O’Hea, F Tina Thompson, F Delisha Milton-Jones, C Candace Parker (apparently there is a question on whether it’s really Jenna or Noelle Quinn starting…they have their numbers transposed on the sheet)
For Tulsa -
G Ivory Latta, G Amber Holt, F Sheryl Swoopes, F Jennifer Lacy, C Tiffany Jackson (no rooks. hmm.)
Officials -
Felicia Grinter, Clarke Stevens, Roy Gulbeyan
the two bad teams in the league
For no apparent reason would rather play vets for close losses than develop the young talent they have.. tulsa isn’t building on swoopes. jeez… the mystics also should play dunlap a lot more than they are and Phillips was cut… Just frustrating…

So, if you watch my game
And happen to see me (hard at work)…let me know what you think of the shirt. The guy next to me said I’m wearing LA colors!! OOPS!!!
From my understanding...
This Live Access feed will not be available for some reason per LA.

Not even here tonight. “Suffered an injury in practice, not feeling too well, ask coach after” is the answer I got. So there’s that.
Oh Andrea Riley
You crack me up!! Chest bumping the starters as they got introduced! I hope she didn’t get hurt

One of McCoughtry's worst games of the season in my opinion
nevermind the 22 points and nine rebounds
@Kris_Willis
Tulsa is FEELING IT!
Up 13-5 right now after a three from Latta followed by an LA turnover. This could be a good night at the BOK
Timeout to Jellybean – 4:56 to play in the 1st
Lacy with another basket out of the timeout. Followed by an LA miss and a Latta J!
by Jessica Lantz on Aug 21, 2011 7:19 PM EDT up reply actions
DMJ
with two quick baskets to stop the LA bleeding. But wait! A Lacy THREEEE!!!!
Tulsa up 20-9; 3:02
Seriously. That streak is ending.
Tulsa 26, LA 14 – 1:22, 1st quarter
Jen Lacy with 11 and Sheryl Swoopes right behind with 10. Tulsa shooting 66.7%
DMJ has 11 for the Sparks
well i expected that.... unfortunately.
still one more quarter left….
by thewiz06 on Aug 21, 2011 7:28 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
Lizzie with a lay in
at the buzzer. but the ruling is no basket – gonna be reviewed tho.
Tulsa 26, LA 17 right now….
On court ruling stands. but it was DAMN CLOSE.

2nd quarter starts
With a Natasha Lacy turnover into the hands of Kayla Pedersen. The energy is intense around here!!
Hey Wave!
If they keep this energy up, I say yes. They want this one. Bad. Rally bad.
by Jessica Lantz on Aug 21, 2011 7:34 PM EDT up reply actions
Tulsa 29, LA 22
A long J by Natasha Lacy followed by a trey by Ebony Hoffman pull the Sparks closer. But still a 7-point Shock lead…
WTF
They just called a 2-shot foul on Toliver, then a tech foul on Andrea Riley. Dumb dumb dumb. Joe and Teresa pow-wowing with the official. This is crazy.
did he say that as a compliment or as a criticism?
by thewiz06 on Aug 21, 2011 7:45 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
I actually think it was meant to be complimentary
But he was talking abt Andrea Riley, so who knows. LOL

then it's a good thing. if he meant it in a bad way,
Looks like he still has a very frosty relationship with his son.

After watching Atlanta and Connecticut, give me western conference. I can take no defense over mug each other every time up the court.

Tulsa 38, LA 28 - 2:56, 2nd quarter
Swoopes with 13 points to lead all scorers…Tulsa shooting great (where has this offense been all year??), sinking 65% of their attempts
74 47 indy...
I have almost nothing positive to say about this yet I still am watching…….

Tulsa 45, LA 32 - HALFTIME!!!
Yay yay YAY!!!! Leaders: Swoopes with 13, J Lacy with 11, Latta with 7 pts, 5 assists, Tiff Jackson 4 rebounds – Shock shooting 61.5%

hope it lasts!!
Win one for the have nots!!

Other stats
Tulsa outrebounding LA 15-6 (OReb % at .375, DReb % at .923). Shock has 12 assists on 16 makes (srsly. who is this team???). 6-of-11 from 3. Both teams turning it over a bit…LA with 12, Tulsa with 10 in the half…

83 51 indiana....
Mystics are just deflated…
by thewiz06 on Aug 21, 2011 8:00 PM EDT via mobile reply actions
Oh wow.
So the Sparks are back to warm up…the halftime show is still going on. Tina Thompson pretty much just told the production people to bugger off. All the Sparks look PISSED. MAJOR.
That marks her season high
15 points. And we’ve still got 18 minutes left!
by Jessica Lantz on Aug 21, 2011 8:21 PM EDT up reply actions
LA getting
Visibly frustrated. Tina T is maaaaad. Don’t think she expected to be down by double-digits to Tulsa!
Uh oh.
Quarter of doom returning? Make that a 7-0 run…Tulsa making bad shots, bad decisions and have stopped rebounding….
Tina Thompson
With the last four for LA, all from the line… It’s down to a 4-point game
by Jessica Lantz on Aug 21, 2011 8:37 PM EDT up reply actions
11-0 LA run
I’m starting to sweat this one again. My heart can’t take this nonsense. #IHateTheQuarterOfDoom
well i feel your pain
at least your man KD won a game for us yesterday!

Damn, damn, damn.
Save us, St. Swoopes!
(I don’t take W games as personally as I do Cal games—but I am rooting quite strongly for Tulsa.)
She’s trying her damnedest! 10 more minutes…
by Jessica Lantz on Aug 21, 2011 8:47 PM EDT up reply actions
Apparently
TJ hurt Tina’s boobie. She is grimmacing a lot. But somehow Tulsa got the lead back… 54-53 after three quarters… Swoopes with 17 & 6, Candace Parker with 16 & 6
Tulsa down 7
The nice young lady next to me just laughed and said, “can you feel it slipping away?” I want to deck her.
LA 65, Tulsa 56 - 5:53, 4th quarter
I’m not happy at all. It’s not even like LA is playing marvelously or something to get back in this. Tulsa is just playing awful. And you can tell their confidence that was ever present in the first half has all but disappeared.
I really don't know what to think
It’s like they’re used to playing from behind so that’s what they’re doing…. it’s now a 6-point game (LA leads)… 3 minutes to play
LA 67 - Tulsa 61; 2:44, 4th quarter
Tulsa’s shooting percentage, once 67% is now 42%. The Shock have 1 20 second timeout remaining, Sparks with a full & 2 20 second timouts…
Bleah.
Any ideas as to why Liz and Kayla didn’t play more, apart from the former’s TOs?
+/- stats back up the starting lineup
Starters ranged from -4 to +3 in larger minutes than the bench which was
Cambage -7 in 16:23
Pedersen -11 in 12:08
Riley -8 in 4:54
Welp.
That was an awful postgame. Very much a bummer…and very much short as can be. Now to digest the loss with some vino!
wonder if tulsa season ticket holders
should bother renewing… But they can afford to be more patient than DC fans….
by thewiz06 on Aug 21, 2011 11:10 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
well they only had two bad seasons so far..
and they do have two high draft picks who are rookies this year. Sure, they haven’t been playing as much as I’d like, but at least they’re still in Tulsa right now. Maybe I sound self serving, but Mystics fans have had to deal with a lot more over 14 years than what Tulsa has had to in just two years.
