2011 WNBA Western Conference Playoff Race: San Antonio Silver Stars In Trouble
On a night in which the Minnesota Lynx clinched what had to be seen as an inevitable playoff berth and Lauren Jackson returned to the Seattle Storm to help them get a one point win against the New York Liberty, the San Antonio Silver Stars might be the big story.
Their loss to the Taurasi-less Phoenix Mercury was their 7th in their last 9 games and their next three games are as follows: @Seattle, @Minnesota, vs Minnesota. So even after suffering a blowout loss to Minnesota tonight, the Sparks are not out of it as they are only 3 games behind the struggling Silver Stars.

Silver Stars Playoff Bound??
If you watched the game last night (or even just looked at the box score), you know that Penny Taylor and Candace Paker had awesome games. DeWanna Bonner played pretty well too. Together, they made up somewhat for no Diana Taurisi. Once again, the Silver Stars didn’t play very good defense. Where did the Silver Star’s players who played such great defense against Indiana go?? From my biased perspective, Penny Taylor took too many steps way more times than were whistled. But, that’s just sour grapes on my part. Hopefully, the Silver Stars will get DA back for the last few regular season games AND the Playoffs.
