I just watched the Minnesota Lynx's 70-69 win over the San Antonio Silver Stars tonight and finally got the opportunity to absorb Lindsay Whalen's game-winner in full context.

Credit Silver Stars center Jayne Appel in attempting to defend Whalen - there was a breakdown early in the play in response to the Taj McWilliams-Franklin screen with Appel, Jia Perkins and Danielle Robinson scrambling to find a defender. Appel did the right thing in picking up Whalen who sort of faded into the corner, Moore did the right thing by making a cross-court pass back to Whalen, and Whalen obviously did the right thing by taking Appel one on one.
