Indiana Fever Climbs Back Into First With 69-58 Victory Over the Connecticut Sun

The Indiana Fever climbed back into first place in the Eastern Conference with a 69-58 victory in front of 6,329 at the Mohegan Sun Arena esentially winning the season series with 1 game remaining in the series.

The game was an ugly defensive battle that saw both teams post their best defensive stats of the season. With Connecticut shooting 30.6% while holding Indiana to a season best of 32.8%. They just couldn't score enough points to get the win after being down by as many as 17 points.

The Fever were without the services of leading scorer Katie Douglas who did not travel with the team. Starting in her place was rookie Jeanette Pohlen who scored 10 points. More surprising was the play of Shannon Bobbitt who is not typically a scorer. She scored a career high 13 points. Tamika Catchings had 16 points, 6 rebounds to lead the Fever.

Renee Montgomery had 10 points, 3 assists for the Sun, while leading scorer Tina Charles had 13 points, 10 rebounds. The Sun's 4 leading scorers - Tina Charles, Renee Montgomery, Asjha Jones and Kara Lawson - shot 12-for-47 (.255) for the game.
