New York Liberty Sign Ta'Shia Phillips, Waive Felicia Chester
In the course of four months, Ta'Shia Phillips has become an expert in WNBA transactions through experience: she has been drafted, traded, made an 11-player roster, taken a roster spot while injured, waived, and signed as a third team has acquired her rights today.
The New York Liberty announced that they have waived Felicia Chester - who has had a similarly busy introduction to the WNBA - to accommodate the addition of Phillips. It's hard to say exactly what she'll bring to the Liberty because she played so sparingly with the Mystics, but as expected based upon college performance she was a strong rebounder with an impressive offensive rebounding percentage over 20%.
Phillips will be available to play tonight against the Washington Mystics, who traded for and waived her.

I hope she scores 15 off the bench, grabs 10 boards
and dunks on top of all of the Mystics tonight. that would do Phillips justice, and I’m still wondering why the hell we even drafted her if this was what we were going to do….
