Around SBN: Devils Beat Rangers, Head To Stanley Cup Finals

Sylvia Fowles of the Chicago Sky and Rebekkah Brunson of the Minnesota Lynx were named the WNBA’s Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for regular season games played Monday, July 11 through Sunday, July 17. This marks the second time Brunson has won the honor this season - previously for the week of June 12 - and, for some reason that escapes me, Fowles' first.

The other candidates were just as interesting as the winners, to me at least: Los Angeles’s Kristi Toliver, New York’s Kia Vaughn, Phoenix’s Diana Taurasi and Washington’s Matee Ajavon. Good to see the younger players on that list stepping up.
