A lot of that is obviously Adams… but it’s an interesting thing to watch unfold game to game…

Back in the day

Stanford pumped a lot of players into the ABL and WNBA.

by ttdomi on Jul 12, 2011 9:16 PM EDT up reply actions

That's because Stanford had years of players built up...

…who were still young enough to play, so they all dumped into the leagues at once. Didn’t hurt that former Stanford players helped put the ABL together, either.

Aside from The Dark Years, Stanford has pretty consistently sent 1-2 players to the pros every year.

(Now, actually sticking in the W…that’s another story.)

I thought I heard Teresa say that

she was hired by Richardson.

Richardson

did indeed hire her. Last year’s player personnel director didn’t really have much of a hand in … anything. Yeah it just doesn't make any sense

The game was not over by any stretch of the imagination, but the SASS seemed like they were all conceding the victory.

Did someone just say

Ticha Bird Penicheiro has 18 points?

He?

I was fake quoting Ticha who some have suggested should be sending out assistant coaching resumes.

Ah ... even better

Man, who are you talking to?

She’s still a top 10 PG, even in a down year..

Wait..

Did you really just say that?

If we’re playing THAT game, I’ll take Stupid Stereotypes for 1000 and say it was less surprising than guys talking about the WNBA.

Nope

never said it.

The fact that this thread will not be archived has nothing to do with the above statement.

That's an interesting perspective on it

Because I do probably know more women who watch Monty Python and talk about it openly than men who watch WNBA… :)

most men who watch WNBA fall into a combination these categories

1. They watch it because of (a) specific player(s), usually because of looks.
2. are afraid of being laughed at for watching the sport so they’re what I call in the closet fans. Nothing to do with homosexuality here
3. Honestly want to follow college players who turn pro. Women’s college basketball gets a better rep than the WNBA among most men, oddly enough.

Do women not watch it?

But yes, was an entertaining thread overall :)

I don't personally know any women who HAVEN'T watched it.

I’m sure there are some, but they are not among the people I know.
