Around SBN: NFL Players Ready To Welcome Gay Teammate

Cappie Pondexter of the New York Liberty and Sue Bird of the Seattle Storm were named the WNBA’s Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for regular season games played Tuesday, July 5 through Sunday, July 10.

Bird had an outstanding individual performance against Indiana and although she didn't carry the team to the same extent, she was also arguably the MVP of Saturday's win against LA with 8 assists & 0 turnovers to go with 17 points.

More on Pondexter's game against the Chicago Sky here and here.
