That’s interesting, given their options at guard…

Seattle is now back in Tulsa...
I still remember the disgrace of losing to the Shock on the road…but the Storm probably don’t. If they screw up tonight…I don’t know what I’m going to do. I am sick and tired of getting bullied. We’re the Seattle Storm, god damnit. WE’RE THE ONES WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING THE BULLYING, YOU HEAR ME?

Well DOT DOT DOT yeah.
That’s a terrible, unsportswomanlike attitude, but I can’t help sharing it.
BearBloke and I were at our local, virtuous-organic pizzeria, watching Phoenix and looking out glumly for the Seattle score, unable to believe that they were trailing the Shock (fond though I am of Cam-beige).
Tulsa & Seattle starters...
For the Storm:
- the usual
Sue Bird, Tanisha Wright, Swin Cash, Camille Little & Lauren Jackson
For the Shock:
- the same as the win on Saturday (which means no Lizzie starting)
Ivory Latta, Sheryl Swoopes, Kayla Pedersen, Tiffany Jackson, Jennifer Lacy
Officials:
Tom Mauer, Eric Brewton, Felicia Grinter
I think you just wanted to type "Tulsa" and "win" in the same sentence again :)
How did Cambage respond to coming off the bench? Does she think it helps her? What was the reasoning again?
SwishAppeal.com for women's basketball...SB Nation Seattle for Seattle sports. Twitter: @NateP_SBN.
Cambage
She said it was precautionary since she’s had two previous concussions so they were being careful with her health…Nolan also said they’re were planning to give her just a few minutes a quarter to bring her back in easy (after the Saturday win)…

A little bird told me...
That Amber Holt’s injury recovery is going better than I expected…a couple of weeks away from returning… we’ll see!
I wonder
If Lizzie got sick again before the game like she did in Seattle for preseason. Hopefully she’s done being nervous when she plays the Storm…
For Tulsa's sake, I'd hope so..
The Shock could really use her tonight…

Shooting woes for Seattle...
Continuing in the opening minute… same for Tulsa. No FG’s yet, only one free each.
This game could be brutal...
… or a defensive battle… ;)

3 fouls on Jen Lacy
that second one was a bit ticky tack – and now an offensive foul? I didn’t see that.
The Mystics game is on local cable TV
on Comcast SportsNet MidAtlantic FYI.
10 pt lead for Indy now, 49-39…………… As if things weren’t bad enough already…
6-6 at the first timeout from Tulsa
Lizzie vs. LJ has Cambage on the board first with 3 points, 2 boards. LJ with nada….
Next LJ/Lizzie matchup
Has Lizzie get an offensive foul. Boooo.
by Jessica Lantz on Jun 21, 2011 8:22 PM EDT up reply actions
I hate to complain about refs
But. They are calling this like Seattle is the home team. What the heck is going on here.
And Lizzie smiles
As LJ gets called for the foul. Cambage drains the pair to give Tulsa a 15-13 lead with 2:09 to play in the 1st
Cambage can draw fouls easily
and hit free throws. She could set records for amount of points from the free throw line.
Camille Little
Two misses, same possession….great D by Pedersen…and then she takes a charge from Tanisha Wright
Every game
I’m more and more impressed every time I see her. #Kayla4AllStar

Pac-10 represent!
I keep saying – one of the best in the draft!
SwishAppeal.com for women's basketball...SB Nation Seattle for Seattle sports. Twitter: @NateP_SBN.
Riley can knock down those
Jimmer threes like nothing. They need to give her Crossley’s nickname of “layup” (from 3)
Yep
When she’s on, she’s way on! (but the opposite is true too) Was always fun to see her take over at OSU games…
by Jessica Lantz on Jun 21, 2011 8:34 PM EDT up reply actions
Lizzie with a layup...
Andrea follows with a steal and fastbreak lay of her own to get the game to 24-13 – Agler calls time again!
Shock needs to be more agressive about getting
it in to Cambage down low. She’s getting the ball higher than Jackson and Monroe and Pedersen. Or maybe her defender is pushing her out (technically a foul but not called normally).
A little of both
Her defender is usually LJ…who can do a good job of moving Lizzie where she wants her. But Nolan has said that she needs to work on staying inside…I just don’t think she’s used to it. (which is a lil weird…)
by Jessica Lantz on Jun 21, 2011 8:46 PM EDT up reply actions
I don't think the Australian league
allows shoving by the defender. But in the highlight clip I saw on youtube, she was most of her time posting up pretty low.
Mechelle
must be feeling a little hot under the collar for riling up the Shock like this last week. Haha.
The problem with Voepel and the other
“experts” is that they do adequately take into consideration what it does to a team when you lose four starters, all of whom are at the all-star level of play. The results aren’t gonna be pretty no matter who is running the show.
Tulsa 29, Seattle 19 - 5:50, 2nd
Leading scorer is Lizzie from the bench with 7. Rebounder is Tiffany Jackson with 7.
More Pac-10 news...
Jayne Appel looking solid tonight in her first game back…just a big presence inside and a great passer…

It keeps cutting out on me
I only get about 30 seconds of action and then it freezes for 20 seconds or more.
Well now it works after I moved closer to my wireless router.
I was getting 3 or 4 bars in another room but apparently it needs 5.
SASS and Phx at half
Merc 52, SASS 43
Back and forth game… the rookies are doing their thing, but they’re having problems defending..
SwishAppeal.com for women's basketball...SB Nation Seattle for Seattle sports. Twitter: @NateP_SBN.
Seattle starting to find the basket
Storm closing in on the lead…and getting ppl in foul trouble…that’s 3 on Swoopes
Tulsa still hasn't figured out they need to
go to Liz at least every other time down. She draws fouls so easily.
Cash's energy can be huge even if she doesn't put up great numbers
and is often contagious… I thought that was the catalyst against Minn.
SwishAppeal.com for women's basketball...SB Nation Seattle for Seattle sports. Twitter: @NateP_SBN.
Katie Smith finally got
a foul she actually has a case to gripe about out of all the griping she does.
Tulsa 37, Seattle 31 at halftime
Leaders… Sue has 10 points for Seattle, Cambage with 9 for Tulsa. Tiff Jackson still leading with 7 boards. Camille Little with 3 assists, but 0-for-5 shooting….
Other stats
Rebound percentages are quite a glaring difference…
O reb – Storm .143, Shock .375 and D reb – Storm .625, Shock .857
Points in paint – Tulsa 18, Seattle 12
Both shooting right around 44%

Storm take the lead 4039
a couple minutes into the quarter…despite LJ’s absence…I wonder what Agler told them at half – I bet it wasn’t so nice.
Well I did see Jen Lacy
shoot a turnaround jumper that appeared to be outside her current skill set.
Yes a lil bit
Have just scored the one basket by Lacy this half….
