As some might have expected with the Gonzaga Bulldogs playing in Spokane on their home floor, they "upset" the #6 Iowa Hawkeyes and advanced to Monday's second round. UCLA followed that game with a win over Montana to advance as well.

Overall, it was a great atmosphere in a sold-out McCarthey Athletic Center, but Gonzaga should be considered a threat to UCLA for more than possessing a home court advantage.
