Minnesota Lynx fills the Target Center with 15,258 people for Game 1

I was talking to a friend who said, "that's not a huge number, but at least people can't say the fans don't care!" I thought I would check to see how this attendance number stacks up against the usual show in town, the Minnesota Timberwolves. In the 2010-11 season, the T-Wolves averaged 15,242 fans. The 2006-07 season was the last year the Wolves had a higher season average than Sunday's 15,258. So if you want to compare apples to oranges, the Lynx got an additional 16 people over the typical fall Target Center crowd. This number for the Finals is well above the Lynx 2011 regular season attendance average of 8,447 (see above link for a historical look at Lynx crowds). Not too shabby at all. Congrats to the Minnesota fans for their outstanding numbers for Game 1 and looking forward to seeing the Game 2 crowd numbers.
