Baylor Bears picked to win Big 12
To go along with her preseason pick to repeat as Big 12 Player of the Year, Brittney Griner's Baylor Bears were also slated to win the conference in 2011-12. The only other school to receive a first place vote (from Baylor's Kim Mulkey) was defending NCAA champions, Texas A&M:
1. Baylor (9) - 81
2. Texas A&M (1) - 73
3. Texas - 60
4. Oklahoma - 58
5. Iowa State - 43
6. Texas Tech - 37
7. Kansas - 35
8. Oklahoma State - 30
9. Kansas State - 23
10. Missouri - 10

Also rather surprising given that they lost Kat Nash...
…who led the team in rebounding and minutes and was second in scoring.
I didn’t see them much last season, but I struggle to see how they’d finish third without Nash, from what little I saw…

My goodness, what has happened to the Kansas State program?
Gone are the glory days of Laurie Kohn, Nicole Ohlde and Kendra Wecker. Their drop has been so precipitous, they have plunged so far from the top, the fall has been so ginormous, the decline so steep, that they are now predicted to perform below Oklahoma State. :P
