Halftime stats: Dream shooting doing the job
For most of the season the Dream where a terrible three point shooting team.
Hitting their threes tonight is making the difference so far – they’re 6-for-9 while for an eFg% of 55.56% to the Storm’s 50%.
That and the fact that they’re pressuring the Storm out of their more methodical offense after the made shots has gotten them back into the game after a rough start. The shooting was particularly important in the 2nd qtr when the Storm shot 6-for-16 while the Dream went 8-for-18.
The turnover story is also interesting – neither team has a turnover percentage over 13% and that’s huge.

So, I guess I need to make a speech about my final thoughts on the game
What can I say? Did anything happen that was all that surprising? It was the embodiment of these Finals. We made an incredible push in the second half again, the Dream came back again, but we were too focused to let them get over the hump. This season, it was how we rolled. For a 28-6 team, we were not without our lapses, but we made it a routine to enforce our will when it mattered most. There are few teams who can come up with an answer when we stifle them to this extent, and the Dream ain’t one of them, folks. Yeah, the games were all tight, but basically the same thing happened every time down the stretch. Can you call that back and forth?

Seattle has a chance at building a dynasty, if the core can stay healthy and together
I’m expecting the West to be much tougher next season, though.
we're going to need some role players
it would have been nice to get more production out of our bench in the finals.
we need a better center than Ashley Robinson, and we need a good backup for Sue Bird. Abrasimova was pretty shoddy in this series.
Who knows what’s going to happen? San Antonio surely won’t be battling injuries all the time, Candace Parker will be back, and who knows what draft picks are in store for the Shock.

Damn. I was really hoping Atlanta would get a game so the finals wouldn’t end so soon. But at least there’s more great stuff to look forward to: a week until FIBA kicks off, and Cal WBB in six weeks. (And my SoCal cousin is now an official WNBA fan.)

Re Atlanta
It’ll be interesting to see what happens at point guard. With the style Atlanta employs, and with Castro-Marques and McCoughtry on the wings, I don’t think a true point guard is necessary.
Also I wouldn’t be surprised to see Carol Ross snatched away by Chicago or New York.
Yeah the coaching openings will be interesting.
I’m also not sleeping on Stephanie White as an option.

I agree.
And I think this team is just figuring out their identity.
I was telling someone the other day that if you stretched this season out over 82 games, teams like the Liberty, Dream, and Mercury (maybe even the Sparks) would look a lot better. I think for the Dream moreso than the others, that has personnel implications as you say.
