You'll have to be my eyes for this one...
Since I can’t stream at work…or just don’t want to get caught.
Random question:
Does that IPhone app stream games too? Would be good for people trying to hide at work… not that the league would ever enable such things…

This is my first time in a long time watching the Storm broadcast...
Looking forward to that…

There we go with an early three from Pondexter...

If Powell heats up...
…the Liberty’s fear of the paint will make more sense.

The offensive rebounding without Jackson is troubling...
SwishAppeal.com for women's basketball...SB Nation Seattle for Seattle sports. Twitter: @QMcCall3.
even the Storm broadcast said it...
NY, normally a terrible O-board team, is having an easy time of it
They're gonna keep saying it too :)
“the worst offensive rebounding team in the WNBA”
By percentage, I don’t believe that’s true…
SwishAppeal.com for women's basketball...SB Nation Seattle for Seattle sports. Twitter: @QMcCall3.
oh noooo it's on!!!!
Nicole Powell took some of that speed. crazy defense, lots of rebounds, and nailing the threes.

Without Jackson patrolling the paint, it’s apparently much easier to grab offensive rebounds against the Storm.

Seems to be a Storm trend
So do a couple of the players

I can promise you that Mr. Agler is not happy with the defensive intensity shown by the Storm at the outset…

I'm noticing that the NYL play up to their opponents
even though the Storm don’t have LJ, the Liberty look more organized today than they have.
I don't like the idea of all this New York winning...
Yankees beat the A’s last night…
Now the Liberty up on the Storm… something has to give…

End 1 24-15
Interesting thing that people aren’t noting – the Storm’s turnovers, while not egregious, were 20% to the Libs’ 6.4%… that’s not Storm basketball…

Wow – New York not settling for perimeter shots…? looks like LJ Rotter’s message has gotten across…
Without LJ to defend the interior, the Storm are struggling to come up with stops in the paint…

Let's just imagine that Swish Appeal is that important

Let's start taking donations...
That could break our budget…

I am the victim of a basketball jones.

Adia likes saying “Pirates Booty” for entirely too much..
The Liberty are showing a little bit of that tendency to settle for perimeter jumpers… but it’s all going in… so oh well…
At halftime, the Storm will have to find a way to deny the entry passes to the post if they’re not going to stop it at the point of attack…

holy cow
Spencer is getting more playing time tonight, and it’s paying off. even though that was a long two, I’ll take it.

Halftime report (SBN Seattle)
http://seattle.sbnation.com/2010/7/6/1555214/jackson-leaves-a-void-but-close-to
Cutting the Liberty’s offensive rebounding percentage from 56% to 33% while maintaining their own 50% didn’t hurt the Storm in the 2nd quarter either.

Beautiful.
I’m sure the result of a calm and methodical speech from Agler at halftime.
SwishAppeal.com for women's basketball...SB Nation Seattle for Seattle sports. Twitter: @QMcCall3.
ok, there were 3 things I liked there.
Cappie’s crossover, Janel’s rebounding hustle, and Taj going hard at the basket.
I think between our two comments..
We’ve captured what each team needs to win this game…

Game tied after Seattle goes inside, NYL jumper, and Seattle fts..
If the game moves further in that direction, perhaps the Storm can get and hold a lead…

5:14 left in 3rd - Liberty 48, Storm 45
After a 13-1 Seattle Storm run, the Liberty use a 6-0 run of their own to wrestle back control of the lead.
Offensive rebounding is still a factor in this game: the Liberty are beating the Storm 4-0 on the offensive boards to start the half….

End 3: 58-54 Liberty...
“Maybe someone can step up for the Storm”… said Dick Fain…
Bird? Vesela? More from Cash?
While the Liberty’s shooting has declined, the Storm’s has steadily improved…

there is a lid on the bucket
for Cappie. that should have gone in.
on another note, why am I talking to myself?
another case of NY being unable to play 4 solid quarters of basketball
I don’t know what it is about this team that makes them fall apart, but they need to figure it out, and fast.
Wow...
Epic collapse :/

It's a season-long issue
-Bad player rotations (why did Greene play 25 minutes? It’s not like she was locking down Seattle’s guards from what I could tell. Pierson and Spencer less than 20 minutes combined?)
-Poor play calling (did Taj score on a set play in the second half at all? I did leave momentarily to grab a snack, so dunno for sure)
-Defensive rotations were nonexistent once Seattle figured out how to move the ball w/o LJ
Donovan made some sound adjustments prior to the game, but once the ball tips, man—she sucks. How many times did they get burned by a player driving middle for drop-off passes to wide-open teammates at the rim? You can see things like that from the sidelines, so you make the adjustment (i.e. stop trying to take the ball out of the ballhandler’s hands and let the second defender stay home). Otherwise, you let a team that you were dominating in the first half steal one from you.
If you’re a Lib fan, you have to be thrilled that she’s out of there come August 22. The franchise seems to be in enough of a funk as it is.
They looked disorganized for much of the second half
Surely that has to fall on the coach. She has TOs, bench players, and a clipboard for a reason.
thanks for explaining
I see what you’re saying. I also feel like a lot of what she says may sometimes fall on deaf ears…
That wouldn't surprise me if true
and I think Blazejowski needs to accept most of the blame for this team not being a contender. This was, after all, her vision. Anne is a lame duck coach who can only do so much. Blaze has been with the team since the beginning. She needs to update her resume or else I can’t see this team surviving the move out of MSG.
