Oklahoma State women's basketball coach Kurt Budke gets raise and extension
Oklahoma State's Kurt Budke got a bump in salary, as announced by the Board of Regents. His $42,600 increase brings his total salary to $450,000 and with a new five year extension, he'll be in Stillwater through June 30, 2017.
In comparison, Oklahoma head coach Sherri Coale's pay and contract was increased after the 2009 season to $900,000 plus performance-based incentives through July 1, 2017. This figure is previous to last year's Final Four appearance by the Sooners.
These numbers were just for comparison's sake, not to say either coach is over or underpaid. As someone who makes far, far less than either of these coaches, it was only to see how "good" of a contract Budke's $450,000 was and Oklahoma happens to be OSU's closest in proximity Big 12 program.
