The Phoenix Mercury are gelling and looking to win their third in a row. Coming off a 9-for-9 performance last game, forward Candice Dupree is hoping her stellar play can continue in a beat-down of the team's Western Conference Rivals, the Silver Stars.

So, I guess if Candice doesn't hit her first two field goal attempts and therefore doesn't break the WNBA record for consecutive field goals made you can blame me. About two hours before tip, I asked to talk to Candice before she began he pre-game routine assuming that she was well aware of the situation. She wasn't.

After a stellar first half of play, the Mercury took a step back in their quest to repeat by blowing a 15 point third quarter lead as the San Antonio Silver Stars ramped up the pressure to get a big road win.

credited w/ 3 made FGA’s (3-3) but before that she missed a little tip in attempt that I guess they didn’t count as an attempt…little home town scoring/cooking perhaps

Correction
They counted Candice’s missed tip-in as an FGA’s so she did not break the record. She is 4-6 with 9 points in 6:41 oh and 4 rebounds. That’s not bad
