Tulsa Shock vs San Antonio Silver Stars Game Preview

You know what day it is? Yup. It's gameday for the Silver Stars as they host Faith Night in San Antonio.

The game is set to tip off 7 pm CST, 8 pm EST, 5 pm PT at the AT&T Centre.

Here is the official WNBA.com preview: http://www.wnba.com/games/20100611/TULSAN/gameinfo.html?ls=gt2hp1021000052

Here is the Silver Stars official preview: http://www.wnba.com/silverstars/gameday/100611.html

Star-divide

Probable starting Lineups for the Tulsa Shock

PG - Natasha Lacy
SG - Shanna Crossley
SF - Amber Holt
PF - Kara Braxton
C - Chante Black

Probable starting Lineups for the Silver Stars

PG - Becky Hammon
SG - Edwige Lawson Wade
SF- Chamique Holdsclaw
PF - Sophia Young
C - Michelle Snow

Keys to the Game:

1. Taking care of the ball
2. Defense
3. Becky Hammon becomes a STAR.

Silver Stars win if: Play solid defense, pass the ball, look for the open person, play the inside outside game with the post players and if Becky Hammon is the star.

Tulsa Shock wins if: Getting to the free throw line, making their shots, Shanna Crossley plays well, and someone unexpected gives the team a boost.

Winner: San Antonio. Becky Hammon will ultimately be the difference as well as the Silver Stars losing they way they did the past several games. It ought to spark a fire in them.

BTW I noticed on your KEYS of the GAME

that there was no mention of Allie Quigley.

You know the Stars can’t win unless she gets hot!!!

the game

sorry bout that. Andrew Monaco not commentating for the Silver Stars. Some other dude. Anyways the Shock lead the Stars 19 – 17. Some good defense, some misses from both teams. Should be better in the second! I hope :)

frustration

i think rite now to be only losing by 2. Also Jayne Appel hasn’t gotten any playing time and Megan Frazee has definitely made the most of her minutes tho she has’nt helped offensively.

Roneeka Hodges has been a great defender on Shanna..I knew picking Shanna would be a risk..i was rite…only 1 pt so far!

thoughts so far

in 3rd Q, Stars getting stops, just not scoring. Tulsa doing just enough to stay with them & that is what is stopping the Stars from running away from this game!
