Being John Malkovich...errr Jason Terry? Not sure if Jene fits the mold
Jene Morris was the 11th pick of the 2010 WNBA draft by the Indiana Fever - and coach Lin Dunn. Here was Dunn's initial reaction:
Just hours later, Coach Dunn continued with another comparison for Morris:
In an interview with Morris, I asked her about the comparison to Terry. Here was her response:
(laughs) He’s a great player, as far as… I don’t think I compare. I don’t know. I can see the comparisons but I don’t think I compare to him because I don’t think I compare with anybody just because I don’t see myself as a great player yet. I can always work on stuff and I can always get better so I don’t necessarily say I compare to him, but I can see the comparisons. I guess I don’t really know who I would compare to because I pretty much see myself as a one and only.
Personally, I am not a big comparison maker, but if I were I'm not sure these are the two I would come up with. Of course, as long as Coach Dunn shows this excitement and promise for the rookie when camp opens next week, that - coupled with her overall performance - is what will matter to Morris' success and longevity with the Fever.
So now I pose the question - do you think either of these comparisons ring true for Morris?
