The WSJ on why Donovan went to college from professional ball
An article by Mike Sielski in the Wall Street Journal talks about Anne Donovan's experience in going from professional coaching to college coaching.
"By 2007, her fourth year in Seattle, the job had become a grind, her relationships with management and her players growing stale. She had tired of working with them, and it seemed they had tired of working with her."
This is an excellent article with insight as to why Anne Donovan went to Seton Hall, and many other great quotes. Like these:
"Ms. Meadors, who accrued 30 years of college head coaching experience at Tennessee Tech and Florida State before entering the WNBA, said the lack of stability in professional women's basketball makes it understandable that Ms. Donovan would pursue a Division I coaching job.
"Back when I was coming through, you were year to year," said Ms. Meadows, who previously coached for two defunct WNBA franchises, the Miami Sol and Charlotte Sting. "Talk about pressure. You had to win every year or you were just not around. There was no severance pay or anything like that. When your contract ran out, you were done."
